ABRP 68 - Corrosion Protection Principles
Course Description
- Prerequisite: ABRP 65
- ABRP majors only
This course will cover corrosion principles and factory corrosion protection, with emphasis on repair methods and materials for corrosion protection.
Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of ABRP 68, the student will be able to:
- Describe the process of corrosion and its effect on vehicles, and describe how corrosion protection is built into vehicles during the manufacturing process
- Select and use various materials which are effective in restoring corrosion protection to collision damaged areas of vehicles
- Plan and apply the correct corrosion protection treatment to enclosed interior surfaces
- Plan and apply recommended protective treatments to weld areas and exposed seams
- Plan and apply correct corrosion protective treatment to exposed interior surfaces during collision repairs
- Plan and apply correct corrosion protective treatment to exposed exterior surfaces, trim, and accessories during collision repairs
