AJ 180 - Introduction to Terrorism
Course Description
- Prerequisite or Corequisite: AJ 101
An examination of the history of terrorism, focusing on the terrorists, who they are and how they operate. Responses to domestic and international terrorism will be discussed along with analyzing future trends.
Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of AJ 180, the student will be able to:
- Define terrorism.
- Summarize the history and beliefs of terrorism.
- Describe the motivation for and the sponsors of terrorism.
- List the role of the media with regard to terrorism.
- Identify both domestic and international terrorist groups.
- Discuss the legal perspectives of and responses to terrorism.
- Describe various weapons of mass destruction.
