MARR 51 - Composite Production
Course Description
- Prerequisite: MARR 50 or Instructor approval
This course uses a production mold to produce a boat hull. Chopper gun techniques, adjustment, and maintenance are covered and PVC foam cores are installed with vacuum bag techniques.
Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Practice gel coat application
- Practice hand laminating techniques
- Become more adept in the use of the chopper gun
- Practice vacuum bag molding techniques for core installation
- Practice demolding techniques
- Understand how to calculate the amount and type of materials to be used
