ABRP 63 - Welding and Cutting Techniques
- Prerequisite: ABRP 62
- ABRP majors only
This course will introduce the student to basic oxyacetylene welding techniques. Oxyacetylene and plasma arc cutting techniques will also be introduced.
Contact: 60 hours total. 6 hours lecture; 18 hours lab per week over 2.5 weeks
Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of ABRP 63, the student will be able to:
- Set up oxyacetylene equipment, demonstrate the types of flames, and run a bead with and without a filler rod
- Set up oxyacetylene equipment and cut automotive sheet metal
- Use the information provided to set up and use a plasma arc cutter
