ABRP 74 - Quarter Panel Replacement Techniques

  • Prerequisite: ABRP 65
  • ABRP majors only

Primary areas of instruction in this course will include fundamental procedures in the removal of stationary glass and the removal and replacement of a vehicle quarter panel.

Contact: 60 hours total. 6 hours lecture; 18 hours lab per week over 2.5 weeks

Student Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of ABRP 74, the student will be able to:

  • Identify the different types of automotive glass
  • Identify both common and specialty tools used for automotive glass replacement
  • Identify fundamental adhesives and sealants used in the auto glass industry
  • Analyze quarter panel damage and determine whether sectioning or full panel replacement is required
  • Apply the principles and techniques of removing a damaged quarter panel
  • Apply principles of proper surface preparation before welding panel replacement
  • Apply principles and techniques of quarter panel alignment and installation
