ABRP 70 - Paint Blending Techniques

Course Description

  • Prerequisite: ABRP 69
  • ABRP majors only

This course will introduce students to the different techniques and various top coats used for refinishing with emphasis on panel blending.

Student Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of ABRP 70, the student will be able to:

  • Describe the theory of blending
  • Identify vehicle locations that are desirable for blending
  • Describe the preparation steps of refinish area that will be blended
  • Demonstrate masking techniques used during spot repairs & blending
  • Describe how to set up a blend repair
  • Demonstrate blending procedures for different types of finishes
