AERO 137 - Airframe Maintenance III
- Prerequisite: "C"in AERO in 130 and in 131 and in 133 and in 135
- Corequisite: AERO 136
Theory of operation of aircraft hydraulic, pneumatic, oxygen and auto-pilot systems; inspect and repair aircraft hydraulic, fuel, pneumatic and instrument systems and other aircraft components as specified by Federal Aviation Regulation Part 147.

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of AERO 137, the student will be able to:
- Inspect, check, service, and repair landing gear, brakes, wheels, tires, hydraulic and pneumatic power systems and components
- Inspect, check, troubleshoot and service heating, cooling, air conditioning, pressurization and oxygen systems and components
- Inspect, check and troubleshoot autopilot systems
- Inspect, check, and service communication and navigation systems
- Inspect and repair antennas and electronic equipment
- Check and service fuel dump systems, pressure fueling systems, and fuel management systems
- Repair fuel system component
- Inspect and repair quantity, pressure, and temperature indicating systems
- Repair and inspect electrical systems and components
- Inspect, check, and troubleshoot constant speed and integrated speed drive generators
- Inspect, check, and service brake and antiskid systems
- Inspect, check, troubleshoot and service position warning and indicating systems
- Inspect, check, troubleshoot, service, and repair ice and rain control systems
- Inspect, check, and service smoke, fir, and carbon monoxide detection systems
- Inspect, check, service, troubleshoot, and repair fire extinguishing systems
Additional Information
Evaluation
Student knowledge and mechanical skill will be evaluated through oral, written and practical tests in the following areas: hydraulic systems, landing gear, brakes, wheels and tires, oxygen systems, avionics, ice and rain control, fire detection and extinguishing, fuel systems, cabin pressurization, heating and cooling, electrical and warning systems; a comprehensive final exam; written assignments; and lab projects. A passing grade of 70% on all tests and projects is required.
