CA 137 - Motion Imaging I

  • Prerequisite: CA 131
  • CA majors only

An introductory course in video editing, to include videography, preproduction and postproduction concepts, image captures and digital editing.

Contact: 4 hours lecture per week

Student Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of CA 137, the student will be able to:

  • Discuss the history and purposes of videography.
  • Use vocabulary specific to the field.
  • Set up for still and motion captures.
  • Recognize current business practices in the industry.
  • Interpret copyright and other laws that apply to the industry.
  • Apply the following motion imaging skills:
    • basic location shooting
    • still and motion captures
    • pre- and post-production
    • off-line editing
    • output management
    • multi-media authoring
  • Assemble a portfolio that demonstrates competence in motion imaging skills.
