CA 148 - 3-D Animation
Course Description
- Prerequisite: CA 138
- CA majors only
An introduction to basic 3-D animation. Includes history and concepts of 3-D animation; modeling; rendering; 2- and 3-D texture mapping; Boolean operations; motion capture; and special effects.
Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of CA 148, the student will be able to:
- Discuss the history and current practices in the field of 3-D animation.
- Distinguish between 3-D and 2-D animation practices and purposes.
- Do modeling using the following techniques:
- polygonal modeling
- splines and patches
- coordinate and geometric systems
- transformations
- Boolean and digitizing effects
