DISL 60 - Diagnostics

  • Prerequisite: DISL 20-28 & 30-36 & 40 & 52 & 54 & 56
  • DISL majors only

Instruction in heavy equipment systems including hydraulic, pneumatic, and special power systems. The theory, operation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of heavy equipment systems will be covered in detail.

Student Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of DISL 60, the student will be able to:

  • Relate the theories to the operation of module components and systems
  • List the preventative maintenance practices for all module systems
  • Discuss personal, tool and equipment safety for all module systems
  • Explain the 3 C's (complaint, cause, and correction) associated with repairs
  • Demonstrate the ability to ask correct series of questions of foreman or customer related to a complaint or problem
  • Analyze symptoms and problems within module systems
