ED 110 - Developmentally Appropriate Practices
Course Description
- Prerequisite or Corequisite: ENG 22/60 OR placement in ENG 100
Provides an overview of the basic attitudes, knowledge and skills necessary for working with children birth through age eight, including those with special needs. Introduces concepts of developmentally appropriate practices including health and safety, the value of play, safe and healthy learning environments and appropriate child guidance. May be taken on a CR/N basis.

Upon successful completion of ED 110, the student will be able to:
- Explain how knowledge of child development helps determine appropriate practices.
- Describe the developmentally appropriate practices regarding
- health, safety, and nutrition,
- learning environment design and management,
- curriculum and play, and
- relationships and guidance
