ED 274 - Infant-Toddler Environments and Relationships
Course Description
- Prerequisite: "C" or higher in ED 170; and in ENG 22/60 OR placement in ENG 100
- Recommended Prep: ENG 100
Focuses on the inter-relatedness of and the connections between the care and education environment, teaching and caregiving styles, personal and professional development, curriculum and relationships with parents, families, and co-workers. Current issues and trends in the field of infant and toddler education and care are examined.
Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of ED 274, the student will be able to:
- Plan infant and toddler environments that support the well being of children and families.
- Recognize that individuals have personal teaching styles.
- Connect personal attitudes, strengths, and style with infant and toddler caregiving practices.
- Plan a developmentally appropriate and culturally sensitive daily program.
- Implement a daily program that is responsive to individual children's needs.
