FIRE 207 - Hazardous Materials Awareness and Operation

Course Description

  • Recommended Prep: FIRE 203 and CHEM 105

Students are introduced to initial response for Hazardous Material Incidents. Topics include: personal safety, NFPA standards, OSHA and EPA regulations, toxicology, Incident Command System, decontamination, chemical resources, initial response, assessment, goal systems, and tactical options for HAZ MAT incidents. Meets Basic Concepts and Awareness levels as provided by NFPA. May be taken on a CR/N basis.
