FT 41 - Apparel Design
- Prerequisite: FT 205 & 215 & 217
Translating design sketches into flat patterns and constructing the finished garments.
Contact: 2 hour lecture; 3 hours lab per week
Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of FT 41, the student will be able to:
- Measure an individual accurately.
- Draft the following patterns from basic measurements:
- bodice sloper
- sleeve sloper
- skirt sloper
- pants sloper
- aloha shirt
- child's bodice sloper
- child's sleeve sloper
- Draft design sketches into flat patterns.
- Construct garments.
- Fit garments.
- Finish garments.
- Produce accurate paper patterns with correct symbols and markings.
