FAMR 296 - Working With People

Focuses on knowledge and skills needed in working with people. Topics include communication barriers and enhancers, conflict management, procrastination, stress and anger management, and group problemsolving skills.

Upon successful completion of FAMR 296, the student will be able to:
- Define terms and concepts relevant to the field.
- Recognize barriers to communication.
- Apply effective communication skills in hypothetical case situations.
- Discuss cultural differences in communication styles.
- Assess various types of intra and interpersonal behaviors.
- Recognize effective conflict management skills.

- Identify ways to manage and prevent stress.
- Identify ways to manage and release anger.
