KLS 195 - Personal Health and Wellness

  • Recommended Prep: ENG 22/60 OR placement in ENG 100

Scientifically based information will be presented to help the student make decisions and take responsibility for his/her own health and healthrelated behaviors. The student will develop a personal, daily physical activity/exercise program, in which he/she will participate and be monitored.

Student Learning Outcomes

Upon successful completion of KLS 195, the student will be able to:

  • Define terms and concepts relevant to the field.
  • Discuss principles and theories in the field.
  • Identify current issues.
  • Identify core health agencies and resources available in the community.
  • Compare and contrast the health conditions of individuals and communities.
  • Apply theoretical and practical approaches to the study of wellness throughout the life cycle.
  • Assess one's own health-related attitudes and behaviors.
  • Examine factors influencing one's health concept.
