FAMR 141 - Parenting
Course Description
- Prerequisite: ENG 20B & C & D & E OR ESL 11 & 13 & 14 & 17 OR placement in ENG 22/60
Parenting theories, methods, skills, issues, and resources; parent-child relations over the life span and in various family and cultural contexts. May be taken on a CR/N basis.
Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of FAMR 141, the student will be able to:
- Define parenting.
- Identify parenting tasks and responsibilities.
- Analyze different parenting styles.
- Examine cultural differences in parenting.
- Discuss transitions in parenthood from infancy to adolescence.
- Develop a personal view about parenting.
- Recognize the dynamics of parenting in contemporary society.
