MARR 31 - Yacht Joinery
- Prerequisite: MARR 30
Advanced joinery projects are covered in this course. Projects include lamination techniques, biscuit joinery, and rabbeted moldings. In addition, lightweight composite furniture will be discussed and demonstrated. Hands-on instruction in the use of the radial arm and table saws, mortising machine, shaper, and router is also provided

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of MARR 31, the student will be able to:
- Introduce the student to the quality standards expected in the marine industry.
- Have the student gain a proficiency in the use of all the wood shop tools.
- Have the student show proficiency in the construction of joints commonly found in boat interior construction.
- Practice router fundamentals including construction of templates.
- Practice installing plastic laminates onto plywood.
- Practice making shop sketches.
- Construct a Joiner's Mallet
- Construct a rolling tool cabinet which, will incorporate the use of blueprint reading, a range of joinery skills and which will meet yacht quality standards.
