MARR 50 - Mold Fabrication
- Prerequisite: MARR 43 or instructor approval
- MARR majors only
This course uses the hull form constructed in earlier courses as a pattern to fabricate a production mold. Tooling gelcoat application is also covered.

Student Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of MARR 50, the student will be able to:
- Define terms standard to the mold making industry
- Design a laminating schedule for the mold
- Apply gel-coat to the mold
- State fundamentals of insuring quality mold cosmetics
- Apply manually and sprayable mold release systems
- Repair surface imperfections in the mold
- Install compressed air release systems in mold
- nderstand and practice procedures for removing the mold from the plug
- Create supports for the mold
- Understand and use a Chopper Gun
