In Service Needs

Contracting for PACE Workshops - In-service Training

To use PACE workshops for in-service training, organizations contract with Honolulu Community College (HonCC) for a single workshop, a unit, or an entire course. A single three-hour workshop may be offered in one session or in segments of two sessions (participants must attend all segments for credit). PACE staff will work with organizations to meet their training needs.

Contracts need a four (4) week lead time from the date of the first workshop, or five weeks when the whole course is being contracted for credit and textbooks need to be ordered. Textbooks are an additional cost. Contracting agencies may arrange a purchase order with Honolulu Community College’s bookstore. The bookstore requires 24 hours processing period. The organization provides the facilities for the workshop(s).

PACE courses consist of 16 workshops in 4 units of 4 workshops each. Three workshops in each unit are content workshops. The fourth is an assessment or capstone workshop and is required for those intending to convert the course to credit.

The fee for each contracted content workshop is $270.00 for up to 14 people. For each person over 14 there is an additional charge of $16.00. For example, if you have 16 people, the cost will be $302.00 ($270 + $32). Organizations may invite others who are not their employees to attend contracted workshops and, if a fee is charged, it must be the regular PACE fee of $16.00 per workshop. This fee will be collected and kept by the contracting organization. The maximum per workshop is 25 people.

The fee for each contracted capstone workshop is $410.00 for up to 14 people. For each person over 14 there is an additional charge of $26.00 per participant.
